Camallanus treatment suggestions?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hello All! This is my first post on here! I recently had a fish come down with intestinal worms and after ALOT of research I found a site from the University of Florida that ID's parasites and says that if they are Camallanus they need a copepod to complete the life cycle. Copepods are small microscopic creatures like plankton. However I believe Snails and Crustaceans also complete the cycle... if you eliminate these and don't feed certain live foods they should eventually clear up. My EBJD's look great now and its been 3 weeks. None of the other fish show any signs of worms and my tank is active again! I'll post the link below... hope this helps! p.s. how do I make an avatar? lol! ...also never lost a fish from this outbreak! I used Fizz Tabs (Jungle is owned by Tetra now) and Metronidazole from Sea Chem to help out as well
