Can I trust my 4 inches green texas, blood parrot and my firemouth with 2 inches cichlids? Such as cuban and jack dempsey. Will they be eaten?
300 gallons, before they grow large enough to not be eaten(by other fishes in the pond) and down to my pond. The Green texas, blood parrot and firemouth will be out there once they get 1 or 2 more inches.I doubt that’s enough of a size difference for them to be eaten, but that stocking sounds like a bloodbath as they start to mature. How large is the tank?
No fighting surprisingly, most of them just mind their own business, blood parrot like to hide in a pot, firemouth just chilling at the center of the tank, the texas likes to be in its cave. Cuban likes the corner and other 3 jack dempsey loves to hang around together. The tank was used to house juvenile dovii, jaguar, umbee, festae back then. If this was hell, I don't know what word could describe that. The dovii were feisty, jag were chill, umbee were...racist.I doubt that’s enough of a size difference for them to be eaten, but that stocking sounds like a bloodbath as they start to mature. How large is the tank?
What are the dimensions of the 300g? Length and width are more critical w CA cichlids than tank height.
I agree wDeadeye that while they’re young and immature it’s prolly ok. Your plan to move fish out as they mature will prolly also be necessary to keep the peace longer in the 300g

4,800 gallons, have a plan to expand this pond later. My 1 festae is chill, My pair of jaguar are the most easy-going, My pair of dovii, usually don't follow other fish, My 1 umbee that I've adopted from my friend is a racist who hates anything albino, specifically red eyes. Other than this specific colour, it doesn't care.Sounds like a good size (assuming a good footprint). How big is the pond?
I can see the parachromis, festae, and umbee causing problems as they age, especially if they start breeding.
As for the new fish, the Texas, dempseys, and Cuban all have a similar look. They’d be likely to see each other as competitors more than other cichlids.
Now I have 3 firemouths, should I add more?4 inch cichlids are unlikely to eat a 2 inch cichlid. The exception would be slender predatory fish like crenicichla, they tend to be able to eat each other with less size difference than you would think, or at least they will try to (and sometimes die trying).
Your stock list sounds fine for your tank size, I would add more fire mouths as they like to live in a group, and keep an eye on the Texas and Cuban, they are a bit meaner than your others
