Can I use this water softener from Lowe's. Diamond Crystal brand.

Strange. I've never seen this type of salt used for softening. Most are potassium based. Can't remember the exact formula anymore.

Diamond crystal is NaCl, aquarium salt is NaCl, pickling salt is NaCl, Kosher salt is NaCl, not sure what Morton's water softener is, probably NaCl too. Some water softeners are KCl and you can use that too in your aquarium. It seems some just like to be negative and say "no don't use that" for no reason. Why do you need aquarium salt? Making a brackish water setup?

Pretty sure salt used for brackish and marine setups is different than that used for treatments.

Seems like this has been confirmed based on follow up posts, but I used this today at about 4PM and my fish have been fine all night. They have not showed any signs at all that anything has changed and they are happy. So it seems to me this is double confirmed.
