omfg.... the spangles are amazing!!!
Let me know brother and I can bring you there. ask Sean ;)

We need your breeding specialties for this color variant.

I can completely confirm that these are AMAZING specimens! The spangling on the body is unreal at such a small size! I was fortunate enough to get in on these! Thanks again Chris!
You're welcome! ;)

Just like old times, the 3 amigo's. It is just so F'N hard to get a hold of Tien.....what's in LA that is more important than this? Come on, let's schedule something while I'm on disability.

I've had this color variant since they were a few weeks old (thanks Chris!).

I've grown and bred umbee's (rio magdalena) from different vendors. I will continue to keep rio mags and of course my umbee's from two other locations.

I would like to share some observations I have noticed. Again these are just personal observations and comparisons.

Black Umbee (from 1/2 an inch to 5")

Body shape - has taller body and shorter face
Color - starts to color up or get spangles at a very small size. Out of my group, the dominant ones are darker.
Appetite - the same as rio mags
Attitude - the same as rio mags. At one inch in length, I lost 2 due to aggression in a 60g tank.

I can attest. These little guys are beasts already. At only 1", these guys are already chasing my 2.5" HRPs. Went away for a weekend baseball tournament and they grew noticeably in those 3 days.

Well worth the money IMO. Just make sure you plan ahead and can properly house these guys. Good ish Chris!!!

What up Chris glad the beast are out to show all what's up:)
Just like Ruck said is exactly how i would put it but I've noticed faster growth on my gorilla blues then my blacks. These guys are maybe a little more aggressive than other umbee's I've had at small sizes but that's my opinion. Well folks I would pick up these bad boys fast like Lopaka said a must have for any monster keepers.

To reiterate the pair b fry are growing faster than the pair A.
Umbee power!!!

Same here, the darker ones are more dominant. Or at least, more aggressive. I haven't lost any yet, but they have HRPs to pick on. When I move them all to their own tank, with no other targets but themselves, I am sure it will be a much different story.

My first umbee or any Caquetaia for that matter. Love them already.
