When you gents are comparing physical characteristics, are you comparing wild fish from known collection locations? Or are you comparing aquarium bred strains, with a generation or more removed from the wild?
Big difference in my books. If it's the latter then IMO all bets are off - too many variables added into the equation to compare what is basically line bred strains, to wild fish. Even among wild variants there can subtle differences in color, spots, stripes, etc., but once you add domestic breeding into the mix there is no point in discussing shades of blue, etc.
