Catfish and Goldfish

I was wondering if there are any Catfish that can be put with Goldfish?

Yes there is but it's just that the goldfish's waste may be to toxic but in any case as it seems you have great filtration I would recommend Cory Cats. GL ;]

with common goldfish that are large, i wouuld recommend bullheads...but not with the fancy varieties

im not an expert but cory's should work with small goldfish. Plecostomus should work with all kinds. i cant think of anything specific for med. size goldfish. but with LARGE goldfish and koi im sure you could put channel catfish, red tail catfish, shovelnose(of all kinds), and bull heads. and if you get those catfish they will eat small goldfish.

i would try some hoplos or slender armored cats. ya want soft bodied or armored?

No way dont put any of those predatory catfish like RTC, channel cat, or bullhead, way too risky. Theres all kinds of small and medium catfish that wont bother your goldfish. As long as your goldfish are big enough then its safe.

Do NOT put a Plecostomus in with goldfish! The pleco will eat the slime coat off the goldfish at night while they are sleeping, eventually killing the goldfish. I have heard of bushynose plecos not bothering goldies, but i wouldn't trust it.

I have 4 large fancy goldfish sharing a 125 gallon with a 7-8" synodontis eupterus. They have been together for almost 5 years with no problems (knock on wood).
