Catfish that won’t eat other fish

Many years ago had a small Bumblebee Catfish in a aquarium with small 1 1/2 inch Redbelly Piranha. Turned on the light to find small catfish with a piranha in its mouth. It was not a Asian Bumblebee cat but a SA specie.

The one that grows only to 2" max with an 1.5" disc shaped fish in its mouth? Amazing what nature can do...

I've had luck with mine, as it has not picked off any of my cardinal tetras yet.
I think they are really cool. They are almost like mini redtail catfish.

I posted your experience on another forum for catfish and a fellow shared a story about his lfs. 30yrs ago the lfs brought in an order of bumble bees and placed them in a tank with small tetras. The tetras were gone the next day. Apparently, these guys are not community friendly

Never would have guessed that about bumblebees. I had one in a community, saw it once a month, never touched a thing.
