Channa Aurantimaculata variations?

Bad move.
Channa should be kept in species only tanks.
Some Channa can be incredibly aggressive even to their own type, Aurantimaculata is one of those.

My temps for my Aurantis were 19c most of the year 22-23c during the summer.

Sexing I find easiest by head structure and dorsal fin.
Sadly with Channa, putting 2 together and hoping for a pair is not how it works.

Best bet, get a group of six, add them to the tank TOGETHER (at the same time) and when (if) a pair forms, remove and rehome, sell or give away the remainders.

I thought channa can be sexed by looking at the jawlines(not too sure what you call this part, the two lines) underneath their mouth?

Hi HH,

I do noit know Any snakehead that can be sexed by a jawline.
As tokyo said, its a combination of headstructre/shape, fin lenght and colour, and what I often say, females mostly can be sexed by their belly line which is more curved than a males belly line.
