Looks like they are getting some size & looking good.
Here's a pic of my smaller Chocolate. She's about 9 inches. I transferred the 10.5 inch male to a semi private wet pet tank due to aggression towards the female.

There's some pecking order squabbling going on between the Chocos. The female keeps chasing the largest male away while allowing the med juvenile to show interest. I have the new tank and am tempted to swap the med juvie and female into that tank to see if they would spawn.

What size aquarium are the chocolate in? Just curious what issues i should expect when mine age - i have 4 in a 600 (10ft x 4ft floor); though long term i only plan on keeping two. The ones i ahve are wc and currently 4ish inch. One have develop the habbit of exploring the floor and caves the loaches/plecos have setup and acting shock from time to time; the other three are less bold (or less curious) and tend to stay higher.

I have them in a 260g, 7ft x 2.5ft. There's been some flaring and lip locking between the female and largest me but so far no injuries. I'm sure if the female truly paired off and spawned there would be a need to remove the other two quick, fast and in a hurry.

Yea i associate lip locking as the female testing the male for suitability; of course if she rejects him sometime it is not so pleasant (at least with angels).

Yeah, he's not an alpha male. He's kinda laid back.

My presumed juvies bred. I am unhappy.
ooops.jpg

So far they are very very passive much like my krobia - the serpae are all lined up about 8 inches away waiting for the parents to leave. The tank as a whole is so peaceful didn't realize they had bred till i went to the other side to see why they weren't in the open like usual. I sincerely wish they had waited another year. I mean they are still pretty small.
