Cichlasoma Beani Price??

I saw some Beani's at my LFS for $12 each would that be a good price or is it over priced?
they are pure bred beani's too. I think they are green morphs not too sure. What is the average price for Beani's?

Size is a huge factor... That sounds about right for a LFS even at a small size.

I would expect them to be more expensive because they are rare?

Depends on your definition of rare... Literally anyone in the US can order them and have them within a couple days from cichlid vendors online. They are definitely not commonly seen in a LFS. $12 is about what I think our LFS was asking for them at about 1.5". They almost all died in the store though so...

Make sure you check the tank for signs of "bloat."

But just to let you know from checking one vendor, 3" are going for $20. So $12 sounds good for the market unless they're tiny.

good price i get 1" for 6$ around me ad 3" for 10$. not an easy fish to kep alive

I would not advise buying these fish unless you are prepared to go to extreme measures to give them the environment they need. VERY bloat prone fish.
