Cichlids + _____?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I find that most cichlids I've kept have no problem living with bichirs. Even the most aggressive specimens just ignore them maybe a small chase here or there.

Agreed i have had similar results

I have a ornate bicher in with my jags / vejas I have not seen them butt heads at all. They swim right past eachother. I believe its because they don't compete for food .

Late but it's true they need there own tank or they will end up like these guys so sad F1 Haitians at that

I love my spanner barbs, they are chunky and indestructible, they shoal and get to 6". Get 6 or they will kill each other I've heard.

Again drop the black nasty, just female festae and a smaller pike with maybe better, other sa options could be greet terror or blue acara?

Thread is alittle old and OP hasn't been on since April, but I think this is a really good topic so I'll through in my 2 cents. I love my Denison barbs to death. You have to do some hunting around but you can generally find ok sized ones for $15 a fish where I am. Had a bad experience with silver dollars... they were skiddish because of the other fish tussling and that made the other fish skiddish, bad cycle. Haven't ever seen those spanner barbs but they look nice, I might have to do some research...
