Also, the Lyonsi is the best fish I think I’ve ever kept. If you can get your hands on 6 or so of them, I’d do that and only that. They have the look and the personality of a fish that’s worth keeping. That’s just my two cents though, to each their own.
I'm warming to this idea. I was considering maybe trying to mix them with Oscura heterospila.

oscura grow very slowly-
Mine are just about 3-4” after a year. My Pearsei went from 6-12” in under a year.
Mine had little personality but I liked the fish much like my bay snook I regret selling them
