so, I have a huge problem. I have 55 gallon, a native biotope with a yellow belly slider, a bullfrog tadpole (accidental), and a juvenile bluegill. I did a water change, and the water was cloudy. its been 2 weeks and it refuses to clear. should I do another water change, or is it something else?
(sorry that the pictures ****ty, and ik the glass needs to be cleaned)

What is your regular water change rate? What’s your filtration?
Turtles are incredibly messy and will need a lot of work to keep up.

water change rate: 30 percent each week and filtration: 10 gallon filter with the tadpole as a clean up crew.

Definitely looks like tanins leeching from the wood. Won't hurt your fish, turtle, or tadpole, but the only ways to get rid of it is several months of soaking the wood until it leeches out, or frequent large water changes, maybe 2 or 3 times a week at 75%. You can put purigen in your filter which will absorb it, but its kind of pricey and will need replaced when the water starts to get brown again. More importantly i see all of your imhabitants as future food sources for each other. If they're all small they may be ok for awhile but sooner or later someone will start getting chomped.

A 30% weekly water change in a small tank containing a turtle and others is not going to cut it. Don’t know the source of the cloudiness but it is easy to guess. I would suggest no less than 50% water changes twice a week, or larger once a week.
