Sorry, I guess my answer was deleted in the server shift. If by coldwater you mean unheated tank rather than chilled tank, then any North American Macrobrachium should work. That's M. acanthurus, M. carcinus, and M. ohione. You should be aware, though, that these are big predatory shrimp; if crayfish are unsuitable for your tank, so are these.

there are numerous types of neocardinia dwarf shrimp, ghost shrimp, freshwater clams....... what exactly do you have for a setup? most inverts do best without fish. there are execptions, however in most cases the inverts will eat the fish or the fish will eat the inverts.... that being said there a millions of possible setups for coldwater
I was thinking of some kind of invertebrate that could live for life happily in my small bog that has an inch and a half of water that receieves water from my filter and a interesting crustacean or invert that can do great in a ten gallon at average room temp that i could possibly breed for fun. would clams, mts , and dwarf crayfish be good for a ten gallon.
I'd stay away from clams unless you have a dedicated setup just for them. Dwarf crays and MTS would do fine in a ten gallon. So would snails of several temperate families, including Physidae, Lymnaeidae, Viviparidae, Planorbidae, Ancylidae, and (if you have some flow) Pleuroceridae. You can probably find all these locally.
