Coleus and Vine plant filter.

I'm loving that Christmas stocking on the wall in July
:-)

My roomate is extremely strange. That has been hanging up since before I lived here lol. If I were to pan around the room you would see all her clothes hung up everywhere to dry. In the bathroom there's like 6 pairs of panties, and 6 bras all hung up to dry. She has more clothes for her Pomeranian than she does for herself, and a massive doll collection. She is 23. She is homesick and thinking of moving out. That would mean more space for fish for me :naughty:

Well you could give her some room into your heart. If you know what I mean. :grinyes: BTW thanks for the reply, I would eventually do it. They're now include in my plans, btw, should I give them organic ferts? Cause if I do I might spill it in the water...

Ehh she is married but seperated. She is very beautiful but i cant stand living with her lol. Or anyone right now. Roomates are a pain. Wives are morw of a pain lol. Be happy to be single and living alone again. Haha. Woukdnt mind dating but thats about it at this point.

As for your plants. I will for now just let them get nutrients qithout fertilizer as it might be toxic for fish. They get natural lifht as well but may add a light fixture alao fir increased growrh

The plants may eventually need iron added but other fertilizer shouldn't be necessary. Food grade chelated iron is probably best for the fish if the leaves start getting yellow. It's pretty commonly used in aquaponics.

Good info. I guess that's about the same as throwing old nails in the flower garden like my mom use to do lol. Really made her plants super dark. I added in a few lucky bamboo. They were on sale at a local walgreens for like 99 cent each and there's 2 stalks in each container. Pretty small, but whatever things grow lol.

Hope those plants grow liike weeds for ya!
I know my pothos plants have grown like crazy. I really like the bananna plant in the tank...thats rad! Has it ever produced fruit?
I tried a lotus plant first but I had a few flaws in my design so it didnt work too well. I may give it a shot another day.

Banana hasn't produced for me yet. It's not an edible variety but it would be nice to look at. I'd likely have better luck with that if I cut it down to one stalk.

I've never tried to grow lotus indoors (sprouted seeds indoors for transplant once) but have some growing in my bog filter outside. I started them from seed last spring and by the end of summer they had massive root systems and produced many rhizomes. Hopefully they'll flower this year, not sure since i transplanted them early last fall and have been tweaking the filter a bit which has changed the water level a bit and probably stressed the plants.
