I was watching my fish last night and I noticed that the 2 Oscars I have never leave each other's sides, plus the fish have become more aggressive than normal, and for some reason they are moving the gravel around like they are building a nest or something. Im new to the Oscar business lol so if someone could help me I would appreciate it. Oh BTW here is a pic of the two. The Pure Orange Oscar is the one I THINK is pregnant.

ok its very difficult to say wether there going to breed until they actually do!!!!
they are egg layers which the female will lay the eggs followed by the male who will basically spray his sperm over the eggs<<<<oscars do get more aggressive as they get older,,,they should be lip locking, tugs of war, head to tail quivering and the cleaning of rocks/glass etc and the digging of pits,,,,,,,,then in a few days you should notice small whiteish tubes appear at the base of the fish,,,,,,males are long and thin and females short/fat n stumpy then a couple more days then lay lay,,,,but ive had mine nearly 2years and they do this all the time and nothing happens

What exactly is the head to tail quivering supposed to mean??? and they already clean the rocks and dig the pits i have noticed that thoughout the past few days. My boyfriend said that he didnt know if they would breed in captivity or not though. Could they just be going through the motions but not really breed???

its literally them facing each others tails and quivering much like someone very exsited,,,,,,,,,yes they can and do breed prolifically in captivity,,,,

but dont exspect them to breed just wait n see,,,best way is to get 6 juvis grow them n see who pairs off

well like i said in by first tread post above... These 2 never leave each others sides... so i think they have paired off already...

How big are they? from the pic they still look a little small to breed.
They may have paired off but if they are still small that may change without any warning as they mature.

:grinno:yes it sounds poss but they could be two females,,,,mine never leave each others side but havent breed in two years<nearly>
just saying dont get ya hopes up ok:grinno:
