LAKEHOOD
Hey guys, i just recently acquired two black crappie and added them to my tank which has two largemouth bass and three bluegills. Through fishing experience, I know that the crappie is the least aggressive and curious out of the three species. I feed my other fish earthworms, mealworms, the occasional goldfish, and dehydrated shrimp, but the crappies won't even glance at the food items, let alone eat them. I know crappies in nature mostly feed on minnows and beetle like insects. I was wondering what kinds of food should I try and find for them, or if i should wait a couple more days for them to get comfortable enough to start eating.

I have 3 white crappies. You won't get them to eat with bluegills or any fast moving fish for that matter. They are waaaay more competitive. My crappies ate everything in my QT tank, got them in the pond, nothing.

I got mine to eat floating pellets, All my bass, crappie, bluegill and sunfush will eat pellets, Also feed shrimp sometimes also. Give them time they will start hitting the food.

give them some time. being hooked and being thrown into a much smaller body of water is stressful.
trust me, I've been there.

Mine eat shrimp along with bluegill in the tank

You could try picking up live minnows and feeding them that, it's much healthier than feeding any of them yucky, fatty goldfish.

Go down to the pond lake whatever and get minnows

I wish I could catch Crappie SMALL enough to keep.
No joke.

Feed them things you'd use for bait.Chopped earthworms. And I know how you guys are on here but even feeders if the tank they are in looks kept and not a typical feeder tank with untreated deaths and such.
You can even stuff pellets in the earthworms over time for a slight vitamin dose.
