cuban cichlid tankmates?

hello all.
ne one know of some cool tankmates for some cuban cichlids? my buddy owns a fish store which he just got in some cubans today. i was thinking about buyin some. ive got an empty 150 gallon tank that is ready for some new fish. please help thanks in advance...
 
I bred Cuban cichlids for almost a year before I sold them. I never found them to be aggressive even with smaller tankmates. Other cichlids, catfish, tetras... they didnt bother with. They were quite rough on each other though.

they are about 2-3 inches. ive read so much about these guys and i get all kinds of mixed info. some say super aggressive and others say they didnt have any probs with them. maybe it all depends on the individual fish. i have a pair of dovii in my other 180 tank right now and i cant put nothing in that tank, otherwise it becomes food. lol. ive always wanted a jardini, think if i get one around the same size i'd be ok? thanks for the help guys.

Bingo. Only way to know for sure is to give things a try.
 
Mine was in a ca/sa community (220) and was calm for about 4 months. The I came home and found 3 fish severly beaten. I lost my FM, but the other 2 survived. He was around 4" when he went nuts.
 
I had to take my cuban out of my 120 gallon grow out tank because he was attacking the festaes...except the bigger one....but he was beating everyone else.
 
oh boy. well since i can only house 2 fish in the 180 gallon tank maybe i oughta think about a different route. i would like to have more than just 1 or 2 fish in the 150 gallon. seems like everyone has had aggressive probs with these guys. they look cool as h*ll though. what to do, oh what to do. haha.......
 
how would you rate there aggressivness to the dovii? i have a pair of those and they are one bad a*s fish. i cant put anything in that tank. are the cubans some what as aggressive as they are? ive heard that there pretty aggressive towards each other but some do well with other aggressive cichlids. ne one know any truth to that?
