i know what you mean, i have had 3 indos in the past and only 1 was stable all the time the other 2 were 50% of the time which was annoying, it actually had amazing colour but did not like arowanas so i sold it.
heres some pics of the 2 most stable ones, the first pic is the smaller constantly stable dat.

I am hoping my new big indo stays stable, at least most of the time. My Widebar, NGT's, and thinbars are stable. its just those indos!! yours looks really good, are his bars complete on the other side too?

haha, Looks like you have a new topdog...or TopDat that is... Its good to here you got some more Dats.. and i cant wait to see them.. as usual!

Lol..yea definitely TopDat, not top fish though, my Oscar still has Alpha status even though hes smaller. Which i dont mind because he keeps all the Dats inline including the NGT. just finished building another sump and doing tank maintenence and its 3am here, ill post pics up tomorrow though.

I feel so puny compared to some of you guys. All I have is four STs. 1-7 1/2", 1-7", 1-4 1/2", 1-4". I had a great indo that I raised from 2" to 6" with stable colors and a great pattern but he apparently didn't like my adding the STs and went belly up within 2 weeks of adding them to his tank.

the dat in the first pic had symetrical bars it was the best indo i have ever seen, both sides were perfect.
the second dat had perfect bars on the side you can see and the other side had one shorter bar.

Dont you have one that is all black all the time? is it one of the big ones? ive got my eye on one that is so black that you cant even see where the markings are at. and his eyes are so blue. i want to get him but the lfs say he might be sick.

Since he has been in the 600 he has been a lot more stable.

Always stable in the evenings. He knows its feeding time.

I got two Pulcher Dats, one 4" and one 10". I only got a pic of the big guy right now. Just got him today not even 20mins in its new tank and it took out a dozen feeders!!!!!!!!! And just ate my baby red belly piranha right now as i was typing this

1 Thin bar: unstable

1 NGT

4 Indo: 1 stable 3 bar, 1 unstable 3 bar, 1 stable 4 bar, 1 unstable 4 bar.
