Here is a large barrimundi at the former Belle Isle Aquarium:

I can't tell the difference at this size!

Judging from the pics, you probably had a hard time IDing the two because they both appear to be barramundi. The jaw structure and head profile appear to be the same. I can't really see the scale size of the fish in the second picture. If you check out your other buy/sell topic ;), I pointed out some of the main differences in the clearer pics. And as I said before, nice fish.

I read your other post. Thanks for the info. Maybe these are both barrimundi and the Belle Isle Aquarium had one of them mis-identified?

that's what I'm thinkin. It wouldn't be the first time an Aquarium misidentified a species. But yeah, to me they look like they're both barramundi. I could be wrong though. You'd have to take the quality of the photos into consideration, and the angle of each picture. But based just on the eye size and jaw structure, they both appear to be barramundi. Angles though, gotta remember the angles, lol.

Ok, the more that I look at the pics you posted, the more I'm starting to second guess myself. I'm starting to think the top pic is the nile. The jaw structure seems very nileish. It's just hard to tell because I know that there is some morphology that comes with age, and I have never seen a full grown nile in person. Who knows anymore? I give up, lol.
