Good feeders you can breed yourself: crickets,guppies,danios,triops,scuds,cherry shrimp,earthworms,grasshoppers.

You can also collect wild aquatic insects in local streams as these have a very low risk of spreading anything bad.

THANKS this was very helpful! I like the idea of wild caught feeders
Then you'll like this idea: go to an area that has no pesticides or insecticides and collect any of the following insects as fish food: crickets,grasshoppers,earthworms,large ants (flip over rocks but put them back so you don't damage anything), Japanese beetles,small junebugs.
Fish also like dead wasps that you swat in your house
