Thanks for all the great pics! I've used these as the basis for my stand, and I'm getting the wood maybe this weekend.

It'll be for a 240g, 8 feet long and 2 feet wide. I think I'll add a couple more supports along the front and back sides just for my piece of mind, but I like to go overkill on everything I do.

I'd post pics of my building process, but I have no camera equipment. I'll see what I can do though.

AWESOME!

That stand must weigh a TON! :grinyes:

Please show the completed stand and tank once everything is setup!

thats what I thought... But I built the same frame and it is so much lighter than it looks.

Beautiful Stand and Set-Up.

Can you show us some Pics of the whole set-up with the Murray Cod in it?

Thanks

Ed
I have just about finished setting up the sump filter, its all working great, I'm just fine tuning some flow rates and tuning out the noise of the overflows etc. I am also getting some plants this week so I will take some more pics later in the week and post them. My house mate is back from holidays so I should be able to borrow her good digital camera and get some decent pics instead of using my mobile phone! The only thing missing now is the lighting! :swear:

The tank has cycled and MC is in there loving life - so much extra room for him :clap He was pretty quiet for the first week as I got a little ammonia spike, but after I put the new wet/dry filter on the tank, the cycle completed within 2 days! I think the extra dissolved O2 from the wet/dry and extra flow rate combined to finish the cycle very quickly. The old Fluval 403 just couldnt hack the pace on a tank this size and wasnt helping with any airation :(

I was going to build a hood and include some MH downlights in it for the lighting but now I'm leaning towards having something hanging from the ceiling to light this tank and have the top open with just cover glasses and a border around the rim. I've seen a few tanks with simialr set-up and it looks good.

So yeah pics coming soon
