I don't get that part.... what's it for? Why?
I'm not sure which part is confusing, but:
If it is the functionality of the airline, you hook it up to an air pump for normal operation to keep the eggs in suspension. Then when you want to harvest them, you shut down the pump and shine a light in the bottom portion. This attracts them to the bottom and then you can use the air line to syphen them out.

The other part is about the assembly. Since the airline has to go through two small holes, it is important to have it secured in the cap first with silicone. After that, when you put the two pieces together, you need to pull the slack out of the airline as you press the two together.

Did that help?

Chompers I like your design. However I needed something sturdier. I have 4 cats that like to climb and knock things over. That is why I came up with the design.
Mine definitely isn't cat proof. :grinno:

I have the hatchery on my top shelf of a 3 tier stand. It is about 6.5 feet off of the ground. My cats are always up there doing something. It is pretty sturdy. I am hopefully adding the two airlines to the cap this week. I am using a turkey baster in them mean time to get the bbs.

Oh! Okay! I didn't know you needed to keep the eggs in suspension. It makes sense now, thanks. =)

That toilet flange looks like a great way to help keep a 2L bottle upright. I definitely plan on building something like that with a wood base (to help with the sturdiness). Thanks for the cool idea.
