diy c02 works?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would either get a better power head/filter. The one I run is like that only it uses a water bottle and the powerhead that I have running is 100gph. Or I would cut the sponge in half. However if you go the sponge rought the bubbles might not disolve as good.

I might change my diffuser to look like yours, with mine I cant put a big enough sponge over the opening.... Ideas... Ideas...

lol I hear you I am thinking about mods now to make it flow better. Right now bubbles are leaking through the sponge thats how much is coming out right now. One side of me is telling me to get a power head with a higher flow rate tomorrow and the other side is saying wait it out see what happens when it ages a bit.

I was looking at your gallery is thought that was just a very large air stone. What do you have under the sponge or is that just it?

I don't understand.... This is what mine looks like.

Now it makes alot more sense lol my bad king :::edit:::: didn't see the bottle::::edit::::

Thats when I had no idea what I was doing....... Now I hope to get a presurized co2 System... in the future.

So I am not a crack head then? LOL but depending on how well this setup works I might go all out and get a presurized co2 system for my 56 gal I have. Right now just playing with the small tank see how well it works out. I am still completely lost on what to do with the 56 gal though.

If you look at the first Sticky in this section and read about Presurized Co2 it isn't that complicated, you just have to have the cash in the beginning.

I haven't went into it since I am only playing with a 10 gallon at the moment and now that I know how to make the c02 it will be fine for that tank. When I go all out I deff going to rock that setup. Just testing waters but DIY stuff is way more fun. Tropking thanks alot for your help and allowing me to ping some ideas off you. I am off to bed but I will post up on how things look tomorrow. The urge to buy a powerhead might kick in though lol.

Cheers

Now that the bottle aged for about 24 hours the filter can finaly keep up with it. Working good now today I just added 2 Java ferns and some java moss. See how things work in in a week.
