As some of you may know. I just got done with my 200 gallon. Pretty much built that thing from the ground up (minus the tank).

My next project was gonna be my 500 gallon, which is 2 months behind schedule. Just like in real life (outside of fish keeping), something unexpectly came up. I remembered a friend had 2 that was sitting in his garage, a while back. He offered them to me before but I didnt take them, thinking I would never need another tank. Well, needing a tank ASAP and it had to be a big one. I gave him a call and he let me buy one as he is gonna setup the other now. This morning I cleaned it out, prepping it for the plumbing (bulkheads, fittings, hoses, etc). My buddy also stopped by to take measurement of the tank. He's gonna build the stand out of angle iron and I will skin it with wood.
Im just happy it wasnt a pain in the a** to clean. The tank is about 6 months old and in perfect condition!

The bulkheads are in place with all the fittings needed for a Fluval FX5. The whole system will be on a "Closed Loop" system to prevent any flooding incase of a power outage. Since this 180 is a grow out tank, I will also be running 4 ATI Hydro Sponge Filter #5. To maintain a better water quality, due to the amount of feeding.
I was gonna paint the back of the tank, like the rest of my setups. I chose not to cause I will sell this tank in the future. I got Black Vinyl (the same stuff they wrap cars with) and applied it to the outside of the tank. Giving it the same affect as if it was painted.

I stopped by my buddy's shop today to see the progress of the stand. Thinking they would be so busy that nothing was done at all (since its only been a day). I was in complete
, when I saw the progress of it. There's only a couple of touch ups (grinding certain areas) and it should be powder coated today. There will be a piece of plywood 1/2" sitting in the recess part to protect the tank from the metal. I will than skin the outside like my pervious stand in my last project. Snapped a quick picture with my camera phone to share. Looks pretty good, doesnt it?
