Hey thanks for the answer, I do have a hole on the ring but i drilled it prior to installation and didn't pay attention when i glued it so it's there under the 1 inch pipe

I was thinking about extending the 2inch pipe before converting it to a 1 inch also! Thanks for the stubby comment, I know it looks kinda cute.

I tested it in the 5 gallon bucket and the garden hose today, it works perfectly and it's supper quiet I can barely hear it. Thanks for making this thread!

my syphon wont start any ideas. i have the valve on top of the u-tube and i tried to suck the air out with tubing, any ideas??? im so lost.

Try putting some water to the T side. You can do it through the little hole on top.

Hey, thanks so much for this post. I had wondered myself if this sort of idea was even possible since seeing the original version and feeling it was rather bulky and unsightly. I will be giving this a try for my sump ASAP.

Any reports on how "stubby" works? i have a 20L im trying to get sumped as its tempered all around. seems like it wouldnt be any different than a larger version since the water pressure inside the tank is what regulates the pressure to create siphon.
