hey guys im getting some L-260 and Hypan Sp. "Lower Rio Xingu" with intentions of breeding them . they already are of breeding size so i need to get some caves . since idk where to get them , i will make them out of pvc , and then im going to spray paint them black . the thing is , is idk what size to make them out of . i was thinking of using a few 1.5" diameter ones and some 1.25" ones , but im not sure . let me know what you guys have used or think , thanks !

I use PVC pipe with my convict Cichlids, works really well, Just got a ton of bushies and will prob try pvc pipe with them also, right now they are all small though so I am feeding them like crazy to grow fast. With my convicts I have 90 degree elbows which is nice because it gives a little more room, Thats what I would plan on doing with the pleco also.

Tip- I place one end right against the glass so I can see whats going on inside with the fry and then they can enter and exit from the other side. Caves are not too expensive, maybe try one of each and see what happens or just try the PVC for now.

I'm not sure about breeding plecos, but I've bred convicts and they loved terracotta pots. If you want to look into the pots like the PVC option above, you can tap the bottoms of them out. The pots are cheap and I've always had luck with them! Just another idea, good luck!
