I've read conflicting info on here about this. Who knows for sure? My GT has one of his fins almost compleley bit off but unless I'm crazy it grew completely back.
Yes minor fraying will grow back , fin rot can bring it past the tail or fin and that is difficult or impossible to repair. But most transportation / fin nipping fray will grow back fine. I believe some of the good stress coat products help but I can not say that for sure maybe someone else can chime in on that.
i think this info is right on.. the only time fins won't grow back if down to surface or if they are messed up due to heritary genetics..etc... such as my black belts tails.. are split and always will be..
Really depends on the damage. I've had a Jag where the tail fin was bitten all the way down and it grew back, but I currently have a Delhezi that had it's tail fin nipped and now it hasn't grown back.
Yes, they grow back. I just had an Oscar go nuts on his tank mate and one of the pectoral fins looked like it was gone. Now, two weeks later there is a brand new fin growing back.
