A friend and I are convinced that the perfecto tanks are a lot lighter than the AGA tanks. All-glass has their 125gallon tank listed on their site as weighing 177lbs.
Does anyone know what the empty weight of PREFECTO (Marineland) 125 gallon tanks are?

Probably about the same, if the glass is the same thickness, and they have the same or comparable material for bracing and the sealant, etc. Just curious, but what makes you guys think they're lighter?

Cause they feel lighter. He works at a pet store, and when the AGA 75 gallon ones come in he has trouble moving them around, but the Perfecto 75gal ones he can lift by himself with no problem.
AGA has the weights and dimensions listed on their website, Marineland does not.
According to AGA, their 125 gallon is 177Lbs
Was just trying to figure out if there was a difference in the wieght of the 125s. Cause it seems like they use a different glass composite or something. We are just guessing here though. As far as we can tell, both AGA and Perfecto tanks have the same glass thickness.

How big is this guy? I just picked up another Perfecto 75gal on boxing day and there is no way I could carry that by myself. Just the weight if in a smaller physical size, OK, but a 4 foot long tank?

Maybe the Perfecto tanks have better handles in the cardboard packaging that makes them easier to move?

If the glass is the same thickness (which I bet they are) then the weight should be within a couple pounds. Plastic trim and silicone weight are negligible.

Burt:)

just the tank alone would still be alot around 200 pounds a 180 wighes around 300

I would guess around 200 lbs. I used to work at a big pet store with a big inventory of fish tanks and there was no way I could've moved a 125g tank... regardless of the manufacturer.

Check the thickness of the glass, if Perfecto uses thinner or thicker glass, then the weight of its tanks will reflect that difference.

if you can tell a difference in 17lbs between the two, you should be a "Guess your weight" carny.

I setup and deliever alot of tanks and all glass tanks are real heavy compared to most i dont know if the glass is thicker or what but i move alot of tanks and my partner and i can feel the difference
