Does Manzanita wood affect water?

The dark water is why I took the DW out of my tank. Manzanita usually doesn't release really dark tannin. Probably won't darken your tank much more than that.

Purigen by seachem does a great job at removing tannins. Just don't forget it in the bucket of dirty sponge cleaning water that gets thrown down the toilet, it sucks. Ask me how I know...
