This is similar to the rubber kelp they sell, (this is just a picture i found online) which first caught my eye because of the potential in the middle of the tank with the kelp kind of closing in on everything.

Caulerpa would give you the look you want, and there are many more good-looking kinds which are readily available online.
I am not a fan of the fake ones personally.
I have not ordered from the store I linked, just saw that they have a nice selection of macros. There are many online stores which carry it however
