Man, he is so yellow and those patterns. The tail spotting is a strong male indicator. But that color heh.... You have yellow lights on or soemthing? Cool looking Dovii! Not sold on the male part yet.

Yeah seriously, why is there Africans in your dovii tank... So much wrong with this that I can't even tackle it before work.
His hump gets bigger everyday I swore it was a girl until a couple weeks ago. Only time will tell. Yellow pattern does look female I agree on that.
I definitely see male characteristics. For sure, it could go either way. He getting beat around? Nipped at? Is something making him not the dominant fish in the tank? Do you also have a bootyfreaky in this tank? Those things could make him show submissive colors.
It's not a set tank still trying to decide what I want to do with it. I've had mixed tanks like this live very full lives. Very easy to do with domesticated fish. Most people know this sorry if you don't want to learn before work.
Yah there is a mean fenestratus that is king just because he is bigger. Dovi will get his own tank eventually.

Heterotilapia buttikoferi, we had a older woman come in calling it that one day. And since then I have a hard time calling it by its real name. Lol
