one piece went in, the other i'm soaking for a couple more days. i'm not worried about tannins, they are harmless. i just want to make sure my fish are safe. like the softer parts on that piece i already put in, turns out it was just a little bark or something. scrubbed it off, rinsed it again, and into the tank it went. now my clown loaches are swimming around and around it in circles. LOL
