So I want to implement a drip system but I do not have a floor drain.I have. I have 2 systems I want to connect to it between 1000-1200 gallons. I would like to exchange about 200 gallons a day. My plan is to connect the two systems to a 30 gallon storage tank and then when that fills up have it pump to the drain in my sink. My only question is related to the pictures below.

If the box on the right is the water storage container and the box on the left is my sump and the red line is the hose that the water will flow through and the yellow is the floor. Will this work since the water will have to go up hill a little before getting to the water storage? Also is the hole where the water is entering in the water storage container a good spot.

Should work just fine as long as ur sump drip drain is higher than the storage tank water level. No need to drop below the storage container like ur pic either and come back up just make sure the pipes drop at least 1” left to right. It can air lock trying to push water back up…Invest in a quality sump pump with float. It will go off pretty often but thats the trade off with no floor drain. Water only needs a drop of like 1/2” or less to drain properly by gravity. Is there any way u can tie into the floor part of ur sink drain rather than pumping up into it?

If not it will still work as u propose. I actually do the same thing basically. I have a septic system so i bypass that entirely for my fish water. My tanks all drain into a sump crock basin i installed in the floor. It then pumps up 8’ and out of my basement another 100’ or so into a storm sewer lol… after the initial 8’ of height its all just gravity to the storm drain out side. I buried the 100’ of pipe 2’ under ground being in ohio.

Just keep ur sump level higher than pump container. My pump goes off every 30 min or so 24/7… in 12 yrs im on my 2nd pump now. U may want to pipe in 2 just in case one fails. Mine is in a basement with a floor drain to my septic so if it fails and floods im still fine. I used to drip 37 gph, about 900gal a day. The pump went off every 10-15 min 24/7…. Ive cut back alot over the years to only 15gph/350gpd and my 2nd pump has lasted longer at half capacity of the old one.

Heres the pump ive had 2 of in 12yrs… prob no need to spend so much on one, just an example of a pump with float switch. 1st one burned out because the float filled with water and just stayed on. I only noticed when smoke came from the basement 😂🤦‍♂️… so keep an eye on ur floats and replace as needed so u dont burn out the pump.

Id run it like this, u can have an elbow to adjust the sump water level. Dont have to be as drastic as u have it tho. 1” drop is plenty for gravity drain. This way the water doesnt need pushed back up either just a straight gravity drop. The pump with float switch will drain down to 1/2” of water then fill back up to 12”+ wherever u set it to go off at.

Thank you for all the feedback! wednesday13 wednesday13 I created this thread looking for guidance and you came through. Your a legend. Unfortunately I will have to run the pipes across the ground and use these below conduits so that i wont be tripping over them.

Theres always a way lol… best part about drip systems is there is no 1 right or wrong way. Whatever u can come up with for ur situation that works for u, is best 💀🤙. Bit of trial and error as always also. I set up mine around 12 yrs ago now. Ive gone through and re done many things since that first initial setup. For me its always easier to see in person. Some times thats what it takes to stare at for a while, watch run… then make improvements 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I used to just dump water right in the yard. For 2 years i had 2-3’ grass in one spot 😂😂😂. Turned that area into a pond for a cple years then eventually buried pipe underground so i could cut my grass normally. 200g a day isnt all that terrible to figure out where to displace or get rid of.

U can always just drill a hole in an outside wall of ur house and pump/drain right outside if ur cesspool cant handle the water. Ive seen a cple people shoot outside into a downspout from a gutter. Theres lots of options

Do you have any photos of the line that runs to the outside wall inside and outside. I am looking for some inspiration.
Its just 1.5” pvc… i have 80’ around the permitter of my fish room that all the tanks/sumps drain into. From there it goes to a sump crock. From the sump crock up 8’ and 20’ or so to a brick wall. Through the brick wall and 10-20’ to a set of small ponds that grow ditch lillies then the ponds overflow is piped an additional 80-100’ underground to a storm drain lol… in the winter u can see the 80-100’ stretch as it keeps the snow melted 😂.
Ill arrange the mess of pics in order of flow… nothin pretty tho, just pvc pipe.

Flowers at the end mark my pipe entrance to the strom drain in case i ever need to dig it up again lol… Again, lots of options and possibilities. My next move is to remove these 3 small ponds and just bury more pipe so i can cut grass normal. These flowers get outta control by fall and its just more work for me. It looked alot nicer the first few years when u could still see the water and goldfish.

"U can always just drill a hole in an outside wall of ur house and pump/drain right outside if ur cesspool cant handle the water." I think this is the route I am going to take! What can I do in the winter to prevent the pipe from freezing?
I dont do anything special…tanks are kept colder than normal at 72-74 year round. Thats plenty warm to melt snow/ice in northern ohio for me even below zero for parts of winter. My 1.5” pvc turns into 3-4” to compensate for that also. As mentioned before my lines are 1-2’ underground in some spots and it melts the snow above ground still 80’ from the house. I have a good grade in my yard as well out to the sewer.

If ur just doing straight gravity drain through the wall most definitely go to 3-4” pvc outside to prevent freeze up in the line. Bury it as well as needed to get it away from ur house as far as u can.
