Dwarf/Shortbody Redtail catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am pretty sure Masked Shadow found what the rumor was referring to. By the time it got to you, the info got badly distorted. A 6" baby fish for $685.

IDK of any short body fish that don’t suffer ill effects. To my mind, it is impossible.

Parrots have all the physical appearance effects, but of all the sbs I’ve heard of, they seem to act completely normal without much issues later in life. I haven’t heard of them getting the same swim bladder issues as frequently as other short bodied fish.

This was the picture I was sent of the sb RTC:

Really just looks like a baby...

I know next to nothing on the parrots, so I'll go on what you said.

SB RTC indeed.

Roderigo often uses photos he finds on the net. This pic may or may not belong to him.

In my opinion shortbodys and deformed fish should not be in the hobby they should be culled let alone sold for silly money like they are being. If you really want a rtc for there beauty i would invest the money going to be used for a shortbody in a setup that could house a natural beautiful redtail for life. I really dont see the appeal of a fish that is out of poportion swims without the grace of a true one or has a servere deformity. If size is the holdback on not wanting a natural redtail there are literally thousands of great looking catfish to suit nearly ever size tank out there.
