get some pics up on the pic thread!

yea, some pics of the skewer idea would be good. infact ive always gone with giving the plecs something different everyday, but putting a bit of each on a skewer would be an effective way of sourcing favourites for different species. hmmmm could be a fun experiment for me to do

My Queen is one of the most active plecos in my tank....now :) ! It's always out fighting over food, usually with my little Titanic.

I've found giving them a buffet is a good way to go. That way they can just eat what they feel like. When I do the post I'll post all the portions of food they get also. It's kind of like playing chef for fish. Gets kind of annoying when I'm dead tired. On nights like that, I just fast my fish. We as aquarist ten to faten our fish up. Due to all the fatty foods in store bought fish foods. So it doesn't hurt them to go without one or even two nights a week. I only feed all my fish once a day.

ah sounds the same as me. overfeeding may seem like a good idea for periods of time, but wild specimens arent fat, and it can reduce longevity. but yea, i do the same, sometimes, my fish go without now occasionally

i think i might put a bunch of plecos in my next tank. my favorite bottom dweller and you have some incredible variations!

lol yea, 400 give or take a few lol ;)

what time of day/night you feed your skewers? you do it at lights out time or....

I usually feed them at night about an hour or two before I go to bed. That way the little guys can have first dibbs. Their usually the only ones that will come eat when it's light. About 5 min after lights out, I can take a flash light and it looks like the gravel it alive. All of them will be munchin away. If I take a flash photo at night with the tank lights off all you see is a ton of little tiney reflecting eyes!:headbang2
