Anybody here has nice ideas on how to DIY intake pipings for Eheim 2250 Canister filter?

This is what i did for mine. But it does not look nice.

I ordered a new tank with cabinet, and was wondering it will look nicer if i customized PVC pipes as intake instead? anybody has a nice looking design?
or our tanks here have rims/braces , Would really appreciate tips/designs.

I made a DIY intake J-tube using PVC pipe & fittings to replace the original parts that came with the filter. You would just need to buy the appropriate size for your filter.

Here is a pic of what I did. I really like it better than the original equipment.

This also allowed me to use the original intake strainer, as it fit the PVC pipe perfectly.

I am using this on the traditional plastic rimmed tanks though which allow the tighter radius. Would it be possible to drill the glass brace on your tank to permit this type of design?

Howdy,

Nice crafting, but it stands out a bit more than sweet Eheim green. Just a thought: Spray Paint

Harley, this particular DIY intake is located behind my DIY background so there was no need to paint it.;)

I did make an additional one for the 125G tank and I spraypainted it black with Krylon Fusion so it disappears into the black background & rock work.

up up :) i just bought a double tap for my eheim :)
btw can you guys post pics of your eheim setup?
are the intake and rainbar on the opposite side of the tank? or are they on the same side?

The double taps will make servicing your filter so much easier.

My intake tubes are located behind my background so the pics wouldn't be helpful. On one 2260, I have the spraybar located on the short end of the tank. On the 2262, I made a 70" long spray bar that is mounted on the front of the tank.

Here is a pic during a water change

thanks :) for your 70" long spray bar , is it also from your canister? or do you have a separate powerhead for this?

That spraybar is coming from my canister. We used 1/2" CPVC pipe and drilled holes along the entire length.
