Actually, I do like the concept....however, I would not use the Iwaki as a suction, rather, I would put the pump in a "push" configuration as pulling is bad for a pump not designed for it. The stack/inline linking of filters that hold massive amounts of media is definitely in the cool category! A point of reference as to the potential, my 2250 holds 18L of Eheim Sub Pro...granted, that is with the mechanical and filter floss removed and using a pre filter...but the potential is clear:. Massive bio capacities.

boldtogether boldtogether - do you refer to Iwaki solely or in general? for the record Ive been using an awsome configuration with a similar model but smaller, for 20 years (app. 2000l/h), were the pump pull just like regular say Eheim config, on a standard Eheim barrrel, and it still works like a charm. Would be interesting to hear though if you know more about this.
