Hi all, I need help again and this forum proved to be very helpful in the past, so I am reaching out again! This is my third time around with Electric Blue Acara fry and it looks like things are working out this go around. I removed the fry when they were a few days old from the parents because they would be eaten by the other fish in my community aquarium and put them in a 10 gallon aquarium with a sponge filter. Today marks 10 days and I still have about 50 plus fry that are growing and swimming around pretty strong; I am alternating feeding them Hikari First Bites and frozen baby brine shrimp. Have they passed the delicate stage yet and is there anything I need to know from a grow out perspective? Suggestions on fry foods? What do I need for the setup of the growout tank?

From BBS I would transition to Frozen brine shrimp. Keep up the water changes and feed them at least twice a day to maximize their growth. Keep their bellies full and the water clean. Good luck! Send us some pics!

At 10 days, they are probably still at Baby Brine Shrimp stage. Keep their little tummies fat.

If you have your regular fish food, put it in a baggie and crush it with a hammer until there's a few chunks and a lot of powder. Use a bit of everything you have and mix it all together. With the baby brine shrimp too that should be all the nutrition they need. Feed them a small amount up to 5 times a day and keep the temp up to 80 and they will grow fast. I keep my fry food mix in an extra container.

This worked really well with getting Molly and guppy fry ready to sell. I'm going to do the same with my convicts too once all the eggs from this week hatch.

I would say the fry are still in the delicate stage so keep up with what you are doing.:) I agree with @GamerChick also frozen BBS is more nutritional, and easier for the tiny mouths to consume. Their is also a product on the market called Instant Baby Brine Shrimp made by Ocean Nutrition.
