Currently the cat is in a 20 gallon, with one tiny tankmate.

I have what I believe is a 33 long, though I haven't measured it lately. It needs resealing, so since I've noticed this outrageous growth, I've been looking for a 55.

Now I'm wondering if I should be after a 75 or larger...

LOL! I bought some eups on impulse a few years ago and in a month or two, my largest was 5-6 inches. I never really noticed until I saw them making a mess around my plants as they eat. That was the time I notice they have grown quite a lot.

Lupin: How old, and how large, did yours get to be?
They managed to reach 3-4 years and were about 6-7" by that time. At that point, I quitted fishkeeping for awhile. Had to take a breather away from the expensive hobby.lol There's one LFS here that owns several 8-9 inch ones. I offered to buy some not knowing the price yet but they turned down the offer. I mean why put them in a tank with no sign 'For display only' if they are not for sale.:irked:

Thanks for the info Lupin!! BIG sigh of relief over here!!!

Did the LFS at least say how old their cats are?

I DO hate it when they don't post "not for sale." I've run into that a few times. Ok. Fine. But do the employees have to give you attitude about it when they tell you? It's like getting sucker-punched for something you knew nothing about!!
