Feeding grocery store shrimp?

I have up until know been feeding frozen krill as part of my feeding regiment to my CA/SA cichlids. It is getting pretty expensive so I thought I would switch to grocery store shrimp.

My questions are:

Do I buy cooked or raw?
peeled or with shell?
Is there any reason not to feed grocery store shrimp?

You buy raw. Remove tail spike. Peeled or not is up to you but I don't mind doing it to save a few bucks. Buy it frozen in the bag.

Go for it! It's quick and easy to access, nutritious, and affordable.
I buy several 2-3 lb frozen bags per month. OK - I'm feeding A LOT of fish each day. Even at wholesale aquarium trade prices, I would never purchase this quantity of prepackaged frozen krill or mystus shrimp.

Cheapest to buy frozen raw whole shrimp with tails on.
Defrost as many shrimp as you need in a bowl of cool water (not hot water-we're not poaching the shrimp for fish consumption). Only takes a few minutes. Peel/pinch of the tail and shell, and you're ready to go. Feeding larger cichlids, catfish, etc. is easy with chunks of shrimp.
I'm feeding many smaller fish as well, so I use a 'mini-chop' that will make something of a shrimp puree.

If you are using the same freezer to keep your fish food in as the family keeps frozen foods, then all the better! You can enjoy Shrimp Creole while your fish eat the same food from the same bag.

I feed market shrimp to all of my fish. I buy a bag of frozen shrimp. Thaw out enough for the feeding, remove the shell and tails, cut into bite size pieces and toss em the tanks. With the Pbass I feed slowly as they will not readily feed from the bottom of the tank. i guess it has to do with the feeding response to moving food. But they beg at the glass anytime I get near their tank anyway so besides getting splashed feeding them isnt hard.

i feed my bass store bought raw shrimp and fish fillets. quick and convenient

heheh they eat better than me dammit!!!
