Female dovii tankmates

My female dovii keeps laying eggs every 3-4 weeks, she is by herself in a 75 gallon. I’m still gun shy to put her with my male who is by himself in a 210 6x2x2.5, in a year or so I’m probably going to put my male in a 300+ and the female in the 210, any tank mates possible with female in the 210, just trying to plan ahead if I don’t decide to try and get them to pair up. image.jpgThank you.

How big is she? And I would only recommend similar sized preds. Otherwise you will end up with an expensive mistake.

She is about 5 inches, curious if anyone has had any luck keeping a female with another large cichlid, Jag, Midas/Red Devil, RTM, Freddy etc... I’m figuring it would be a crap shoot in a 210.

I would say similar sized with a similar disposition, just keep a wary eye on the tank and inhabitants. The last thing you want is an expensive snack

What is her swimming area top mid bottom all over the place? If she has a certain level try something with a different swim level too.

Like I said previously, similar disposition and similar size should be ok just watch carefully if you don't have the time to watch keep her alone until she's ready for the move to the male.

I disagree with similar size tank mates. There will be war on. Fighting for dominance.
A small Dovii like yours, imo will do best with a large male Dovii or large male Amph sp.
Provide loads of hiding places for the little female. Let the female get familiar with her hiding places and surroundings well before introducing the new tank mate.
