I've suddenly come down with the urge to buy a nice flowerhorn so have been keeping an eye out for ones that catch my eye. I really don't know much about all the types there are now, I just know I have a certain taste and I HATE the stupid giant koks that are prized by so many. I'd like a "natural" nuchal hump as much as possible, akin to my Midas.

I've imported hundreds of expensive bettas from Indonesia mostly so my inclination is to buy overseas. This guy is being sold by a breeder in Thailand. I'm not aiming for prize winning show fish, but if I'm going to spend a pretty penny I want to know it's a quality fish. Seller says it is 2.7-3" in size. What say you experts - quality fish worth the money? What type would it be considered and what could I expect as it matures?

Nice Kamfa. You can expect a large nuchal on this fish at full maturity but I would think maybe in the confines of what a pure Midas could be capable of, so I doubt this one would turn out with an outrageous nuchal hump. This fish should turn out nice. If you like it, get it. So many different looking Flower horn that all can be great in their own, varying, unique ways. it’s largely up to the eye of the beholder in choosing. No telling exactly how this fish will turn out but it will be cool and no doubt, far better than your experience with imported RT, at the very least. If want to look at comparisons of juveniles and adults of similar looking, F2,F3,F4 Kamfa because that’s the camp this fish would fall into, you should. It’s likely one of those gens of Kamfa imo.

This is no doubt a very high quality fish. Full marking of head, body, and fins with cool mask. It vary well could be worth the money but that’s ultimately up for you too decide if that’s the look of Flowerhorn you’d like to go for. Now If I were you I’d get it. This is a good choice Flowerhorn. And the photos provided are authentic and not deceiving or doctored in any kind of way which is very good as it should come as advertised after its comfortable and relaxed after shipping and gets pumped up again. Not being as advertised is problem with a lot of Flowerhorn sellers. This looks to be in the clear👍.

Thank you for the feedback. My main concern about how they mature is colouring - I'm a bit paranoid that they are highly juiced as babies by the sellers and it will be impossible to keep that beautiful red colour myself once it's in my care.

I do love that fish but adding in the price of shipping put it at a price I have a hard time spending on something that could do poorly once it hits different waters and die on me lol. I'll keep looking.

Looks to be a nice Kamfa but I understand your concerns being expensive and all the shipping stress that can happen. I’ve never had one change it’s color on me, whatever the color was when I bought it, it stayed that color it’s whole life but I’ve only had a few of them, so my experience is limited. Also it’s very hard to tell how big it’s hump will get at this size. I have seen others at this size with a larger hump, but it’s mostly guess work at how big or small their hump will get without seeing pictures of the parents. Are you able to ask for pics of the breeders they used so you can get an idea as to what it’s color and hump will turn out like?

That's good to know, thanks!
