I am looking at one of the pentair fiberglass tanks. The inside dimensions is 60 x 30“. The tank has a very thick lip around it, which can bring it up to 66 inches. The space I have is 65 inches. Does anyone know if I can shave down the lip till it fits in? Does it give structural support? As you seen in the picture, there’s several levels of it.

I just googled it, it would seem fine to sand down a inch or so i would just be careful as its fiberglass and those small hairs can irritate your skin and i would clean it up well don't leave any residue behind

Thank you. Can i seal it with anything?

My concern would be if the structural ribs are hollow or not. These tanks pop out of a mold tho so the top lip would b the widest at 66”. You might just be lucky enough to only need to cut the top lip and not the ribs. Id cut 1/2” from each side so there pretty much still in tact. \___/ there shaped like this.
