fibreglass tank update

Thats a beautiful view for my eyes. Both the tank and the RTGG. Id love my RTGG to be that dark gray.

All done, started at 6.30am this morning and i've just took this picture at 4.45pm. No problems to report. Took my old 180 and it's stand down to our kids and got the new one in position, filled up, plumbed in, fish in, all in 10 hours. Just a few aesthetic tweaks needed to the overall look and tomorrow the mighty move for my RTGG. He'll be going in it too, i'm expecting some disruption from him but it is what it is. He might play nice with a bit of luck.

The second picture is of a nice ice cold glass of grey goose vodka, tonic water and lemon. Well deserved too, even if I say so myself.

What type of barb is it? Looks like an tinfoil but bulky as an lemonfin

It's funny you should mention it. I bought 4 tinfoils about 4 years ago, all about 3". One of them, the one you refer to, just didn't look like a true tinfoil but I thought nothing of it until someone posted a picture of a lemon fin barb a few weeks ago and it was identical to mine. So basically four years down the line I got a true identification. It's a stunning fish, one of my favourites, it's about 12" now. He grew wings earlier. He was the only fish that during the move decided to go airborne. Ended up on the floor. I was scrambling about trying to pick it up.

Not sure if it is an wetmorei due to the orange pelvicfins. But it sure must be a fish in the hypsibarbusgenus. Does it have the black lace around its scales like this does?

Yeah, that picture is the spit of mine when viewed from above.

Well if so congrats on an amazing species. Im in love with mine except when i have to bet it. It darts away like an scudmissile. :nilly::nilly::nilly:

The one on the picture is almost 2' and 1' high. Its a beast.

Final piece of the jigsaw today. My RTGG put in his new home with some new "friends". I thought he'd cause mischief but if anything his "friends" have been pestering him. Sorry for the crap picture, it's off my tablet and it's pants at taking good pics.

The 180 he came from is now home to my clown loach and a single flagtail along with a few algae eaters.

Total cost of the fibreglass tank project was around £1300 which is peanuts compared to the £6000 I was quoted for a similar sized acrylic tank a few months ago. I may need another powerhead yet which will be around £100, i'm just monitoring everything at the moment because no doubt tweaks will be needed.

Although there were a few stressful moments i'm very happy with the finished article.

This is awsome. And now i see what you said about the barb. It sure does look like an hypsibarbus wetmorei.
