Once the fire eel is large enough to pose a "threat" to your tire tracks territory he is toast... I would seperate them sooner rather then later.

If they are eating catfish tablets, get them on massivor as soon as you can. It's rare for eels to eat dry foods. On massivor in a lrge aquarium like yours, they'll grow faster and larger. I've done it before by soaking massivor with thawing frozen bloodworms. He's don't eat bloodworm anymore so.....yeah.

ok, thanks for the advice. I wanna see how it plays out first. if there's any sign of problems at any size, my Fire eel can go into my girlfriends tank. im hoping there won't be. my friend had two eels, (1 tyre track, 1 fire eel) both 20". They were fine in a 1600litre which is smaller than my tank-to-be. I'm really hoping that it can be done. if not they'll both get different homes where they can be happy.
Thanks everyone.

Yes, that's a good point. I was trying to raise both my eels in a 55 gal. But in a tank as big as yours, you may not have the same problem. I truly hope it works out for you. Being able to see two 30"+ eels sharing one aquarium would be sick! As for massivore it's not cheap, but it's so potent that you don't need to use alot. Start with the small bag in case they change their minds. You know what, try the hikari sinking carnivore first. It's the same thing just smaller pellets. Aloha!
