thanks guys!!

heres an update:

This morning i filled the tank(about 13 hours ago) and its still holding fine. no bowing or leaks all.

I got a little but more done today. Not alot of trim. i may just skip that, or wait it out for a while. I only trimed around the viewing area, as i thought it needed it. one more painting should do it also.

For the glass tops, i made a frmae for them, so they dont slide around, and they are easier to put back in the right place, ect... glass tops are from a dismantled scratched up 15gal tank which would explain he scratcheds on the glass, but their not important.

I also put a handle on the front pieces that lift up and painted them black as well.

sand is only in there for a rince and because i wanted to see what it would look like. so the water is cloudy because of it.

I figuered now that i am done purchasing mostly every thing for the tank, i can post a cost break down.

2X4's for stand frame: $30
All screws: $20
Black paint and all brushes: $50
Liquid rubber: $80
Hinges and handles: $15
Glass: $120
Wood glue: $8
Silicone: $15
trim: $20
Plywood for tank: $80
Plywood for stand: $40

Total cost: $478

Not bad. i was hoping it would be less, but i was actually thinking it would be closer to $800 during the planning stages.

The down side is the equipment that i will be using costs more than the tank/stand. but that is usually the case anyway.

WOW thats not bad considering it's small size, you kept it very close to $2 per gallon which if you excluded the cost of the stand ( maybe $100 of the cost) and a tank that costs less than $1.60 a gallon is nothing to laugh at... thats down right CHEAP!

The front glass was $12 a square foot. Best price in atlantic canada for new glass That i could find(i called everywhere)

Considering i once bought a 135gal bare tank new for $576 with nothing else, just the glass tank, i feel this build was very cheap. i could of shaved off around $75 off of the total cost if i cut the wood myself, skipped the little bit of trim i used, used a cheaper paint , reused paintbrushes, and other small things like that. But its done now, and $478 is the total cost.
