First Polypterus: need advice!

I didn't think height matters much to bichirs. But mine started swimming throughout the tank recently (looks like he's becoming more confident! ) so I suppose it wouldn't hurt to get a slightly taller tank so he has more swimming room. Everything depends on what I can find used though.

They are more active when it's warmer, too, so that's probably helped him out.

Awesome! Mine was always active and personable for a poly. She’d beg for food... was the only poly who would do that outside of the ropes.

Yes, that's why I decided to get a polli. He was very active at the store but the tank was full of swimming polys. Now he's all by his lonesome in the QT and very shy.

My delhezi has started to beg for food. Makes me wonder whether their eyesight is as bad as they say. He seems to know when I come into the room but perhaps he's responding to the vibrations.
