It is most likely this.
I believe whenever you get a cichlid from a LFS these days, you have a more than 50/50 chance it will be a hybrid., because there are so many amateurs out there allowing species to cross, and then instead of doing the right thing and using them as feeders, turning them in to LFSts
Here is a pure Parachromis motaguense to compare. Those fine features, and distinct color patterns that are distinctions of a true species, are not apparent in the photos above
