Hand feed them or just toss food in. Wouldnt want them to dislocate or disfigure their jaws.
The Siniperca obscura will have no problem eating shrimp falling or maybe even hand feeding but the Siniperca roulei, while still willing to eat the shrimp, are very hesitant and most of the time I have to circle te shrimp piece around them a few times as they think about it before they actually go for it so dropping it or hand feeding won’t work at the moment. I’m thinking abut trying actual tweezers since they’re so much slimmer and won’t make much of a difference when letting go of a piece of food unlike the tongs.Hand feed them or just toss food in. Wouldnt want them to dislocate or disfigure their jaws.
Oh come on, one little set back like this isn’t going to get fishhead down for the count. A little bit of complaining and drama and I’m right as rain ready to keep treading on. After all, I can’t keep Wallace’s shoehead catfish if I take a break now can I?Sorry to hear about the Siniperca. That said, don't give up! That last roulei is clearly a fighter and you'll have a fish with one hell of a story if it pulls through.
Good taste in plecos, do be warned though that royals are organic woodchippers. I heard they go through wood like a beaver once large enough. Better start looking for your own driftwood if you want to keep yours happy without a huge price tag.
If memory serves, there was a post on PCF along the lines of "I once got stabbed by wood chips in my panaque's poop while cleaning the tank", which is the kind of injury that you can only get in this hobby.
